Immanuel Communities is seeking a Full-time Lead Cook to work at Deerfield, located at 13731 Hickman Road, Urbandale, IA 50323. Deerfield has 122 independent living apartment homes, 32 independent living patio homes, 20 assisted living, 24 residential care apartment homes and 30 long-term care/skilled nursing suites. Schedule will vary from breakfast/lunch and lunch/dinner shifts to include weekends and holidays, so flexibility is a must to be considered for this role.

This position will pay up to $21.00/hour. Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

Job Duties & Skills Required:

What You Will Do

The Lead Cook is to ensure that high-quality food is prepared, apportioned, and presented in an appealing manner to residents. Additionalresponsibilities of this job include all types of food preparation, including yet not limited to baking, grilling, stove-top and oven cooking; and cleaning the kitchen. The incumbent may be assigned to oversee progress of cooks abilities, kitchen projects, or certain aspects of food preparation in the kitchen.

Skills & Requirements

Two (2) years of cooking experience beyond the level of fast food/fast casual is required.

Supervisory/training/mentoring experience in back of housh is required.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain is required.

Minimum age of 18 years old required.
