Iowa Western is seeking a Director of Program Review & Assessment to guide efforts in assessing academic and co-curricular programs, tracking student learning outcomes, performing program reviews, collaborating with faculty, and ensuring compliance with state and accreditation standards. Job Duties

  • Provide oversight for all academic program reviews and assessment activities across the college, ensuring alignment with institutional mission
  • Ensure all academic programs follow the established schedule for Program Review and Assessment (PRA)
  • Chair the Program Review & Assessment (PRA) Committee
  • Oversee the academic and co-curricular assessment processes, including tracking, reporting, and analysis
  • Ensure the collegeâ??s program review and assessment processes meet state and HLC accreditation requirements
  • Execute academic program Vitality Reviews in accordance with the Collegeâ??s Vitality Review process and schedule.
  • Recommend curriculum improvements and opportunities based on the findings of program review and assessment, using data to drive continuous improvement
  • Work closely with faculty and program chairs to support the completion of program reviews and assessments on time and with high quality
  • Facilitate workshops, presentations, and trainings on program review and assessment, including best practices, using assessment software, and using assessment data for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate within Institutional Effectiveness and with other departments to support the collection and analysis of assessment data
  • Serve as the administrator and lead for the collegeâ??s assessment software
  • Review faculty assessment reports in a timely manner to provide guidance for continuous improvement
  • Ensure faculty and departments close the loop on assessment by providing comprehensive assessment reports that detail findings, action plans, and follow-up steps
  • Use data from program reviews and assessments to support institutional decision-making and planning
  • Do some basic data analysis as needed
  • Supervise the Project Manager
  • Provide support to the Project Manager on initiatives related to curriculum, assessment, and related software
  • Update SPOL with course and program outcome changes, new courses, inactivate deactivated courses, and add class lists each semester for assessment.
  • Serve as backup to Project Manager on attendance reports
  • Keep Canvas page updated with best practices for faculty assessment.
  • Meet with faculty and departments to assist with setup of assessments and program mapping
  • Work with faculty to ensure course and program outcomes stay up to date and relevant
  • Assist with accreditation processes as needed
  • Support basic data needs of the department as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelorâ??s degree, preferably in Education, Communication, or related field
  • Experience with assessment practices
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Strong research and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with various groups of people
  • ·Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output
  • Excellent customer service skills required 
  • Strong data-focused skills, with ability to create pivot tables in Excel, analyze assessment data and trends
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people
  • Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team
  • Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision
  • Ability to pass a background check, have a valid driver's license and good driving record

Physical Demands

  • The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs
