Lead Data Engineer

Physicians Mutual is hiring a Lead Data Engineer in our Enterprise Technology Group. The selected candidate will design, develop, test and maintain scripts and jobs that are required to extract, transform, clean and load data into operational data stores. Mentors less experienced designers and serves as a project technical lead for large data projects. Provides work direction, training and mentoring to staff and delegates tasks.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelorâ??s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of IT experience, to include at least 8 yearsâ?? progressive experience in relational database management systems.
• 8+ years of SQL experience.
• 8+ years' experience using Python.
• Demonstrate experience in data engineering with 10 years' experience using ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage).
• Strong relational database knowledge, including a broad understanding of current and prospective data architecture and database performance tuning.

Preferred:

• Experience in mentoring, coaching or developing others in a professional environment
• SQL programming in a DB2 environment
• SQL programming in SQL Server environment
• Experience developing or deploying data solutions cloud providers such as AWS, Google or Azure
• Experience with Docker/Jenkins
